Famous breach of Trust in Cancer

I am currently reading The Emperor of Maladies. I came across a famous breach of trust in cancer treatment. It involved infamous oncologist, Werner Bezwoda who fudged data about bone marrow transplant in women with metastatic breast cancer.

Before I understood anything, I have to understand what bone marrow was. I remembered vaguely from my science class in school but I guess I needed a revision...
