Change of Address on USA Visa
Getting a visa in the U.S. alone does not mean you are authorized to start working. First, the employer must file a Labor Condition Application (LCA) with the Department of Labor and have it approved. After that, USCIS must approve Form I-797 (the H-1B petition) before you are authorized to work.
Your work authorization is tied to both your employment location and your home address.
If you change your address, you are required to notify USCIS within 10 days. You can do this by logging into the USCIS website and submitting a change of address request, which replaces the AR-11 form process.
To complete this, you may need:
Your A-number (Alien Registration Number), which can be found on your I-797 approval notice Your receipt number for the pending or approved case
The A-number identifies the beneficiary listed on the I-797 notice.
